Property and Casualty Claims Manager- Contract Position

We are looking for an experienced Property and Casualty Claims Manager on a full-time basis to work a 6-9 month contract.
Location: This role requires a hybrid work schedule out of any of our California offices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with the reporting of P&C claims. This responsibility requires the ability to interpret P&C policies to determine which coverage(s) apply so that all appropriate insurers are notified.
- Provide technical guidance on complex property claims, including coverage analysis, large loss strategy, subrogation, and valuation issues.
- Act as a liaison between clients and insurers to ensure that claims are being handled in a timely manner with the best possible outcome for all concerned.
- Assist clients to resolve coverage issues and to negotiate settlements.
- Review summons and complaints for proper handling and reporting to appropriate carriers.
- Respond to inquiries from clients, adjusters, producers, attorneys and claimants, not only as inquires may relate to a claim, but also from the “servicing” standpoint.
- Set up and maintain claim files; prepare faxes, cover letters and other correspondence as necessary.
- Document all communications in the agency management systems.
- Notify account managers and producers of any potential client or coverage issues.
- Notify Loss Control of any potential safety issues that have resulted in a claim or could give rise to a claim.
- Monitor the progress of claims to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Participate in carrier claim reviews with the client.
- Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient and timely processing of all responsibilities.
- Work as a team within the timeline needed and production capabilities. Interact with others in a professional effective, supportive, and productive manner.
- Maintain cordial and effective relations with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
- Interact with others, using good communication skills and provide information and guidance as needed to achieve the business goals of the company.
- Stay informed on legislative updates, products and program developments, including new technology to continue to improve knowledge and performance.

- Knowledge of coverage forms, processing procedures and practices.
- Insurance Broker experience is preferrable

Education and/or Experience:
- 7-10+ years of property & casualty claims experience.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid P&C Brokers License
The national average hourly rate for this role is $48.00 to $52.00 per hour. The hourly rate offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
