Responsibilities

Provides management of electrical safety, preventive maintenance, and equipment repair programs for the Biomedical and Diagnostic Imaging Departments.

 

Accountabilities

• Direct preventive and corrective maintenance requests for mechanical, electronic and medical equipment.• Oversee work in the hospital provided by electrical and mechanical contract vendors as well as the timely and accurate submission of service contracts.• Ensure hospital compliance with electrical safety regulations and preventative maintenance requirements in accordance with all regulatory, licensing and accreditation agencies. Maintain code requirement by accurately documenting scheduled PM's and CM's.• Provide leadership in training and development of equipment technicians.• Assists Director with the budget process through resource identification and area needs. Prepares realistic budgets reflecting needed expenditures and operating income of all assigned functions. Takes appropriate corrective action to ensure operations are managed within approved budgets. Reports budget variances to the Director in a timely manner.• Directly responsible (with support from Human Resources) for employee engagement and people management processes including interviewing and selection, time and attendance approval, providing timely feedback and performance evaluations, employee development, employee retention, disciplinary actions and terminations.• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:MINIMUM REQUIRED: AA Degree in the Electriconic Technology field. Technician/Vocational training courses in biomedical equipment maintenance and Radiology equipment or military equivalent training. Approximately 5 years of related experience.

 

PREFERRED: Experience in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting.
