OnsiteCollins Aerospace is currently seeking a Senior Principal Project Engineer to join the Integrated Strategic Solutions Engineering (ISSE) team in Richardson, TX. As a Senior Principal Project Engineer, you will lead multi-disciplined engineering teams developing Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) mission systems solutions for use in on aircraft and on ground strategic defense systems.
This role includes oversight of all aspects of our programs including cost, schedule and the technical solutions. Additionally, this position have responsibility for for motivating team members, facilitating meetings, cultivating and reinforcing values, methods, and processes while identifying, analyzing and correcting problems.
This position will require on-site work in Richardson, Texas and spans the entire development lifecycle, from pursuit and order capture through verification testing and customer delivery
What You Will Do:
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to a mult-disciplined engineering team.
- Responsible for program cost and schedule performance.
- Act a a primary interface to customers for all technical and programatic issues.
- Lead techical and review meetings.
- Responsible for program staffing supply and demand metrics
- Lead bids and proposals
- Act as primary engineering interface to value stream leadership
- Manage program risks and opportunities
- Partner with business development in exploring new business opportunities
- Travel once per quarter to Salt Lake City, UT
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required . U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- At least ten years of engineering development and leadership experience, including staffing, leading, and mentoring teams.
- Strong people management, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with earned value management.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience of leading engineering teams on DoD programs
- Familarity with on air and on ground communications systems
- Prior experience of leading or working on bids and proposals
- Experience with regulatory and certification requirements
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
