The Senior EHS & Sustainability Manager – ITO is a regional subject‑matter expert responsible for integrating Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), Environmental Protection, and Sustainability requirements across the Inquiry to Order (ITO) phase of several projects in Central Europe.

The role provides strategic guidance during bidding and contracting and serves as the primary expert and escalation point for environmental and sustainability topics during project execution, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with customer and business expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Senior EHS & Sustainability Leadership in ITO

  • Act as senior advisor during  ITO stage on review and assessment ofEHS, sustainability, and social strategy and requirements defined by legal requirements and internally by GE Vernova.
  • Implement the EHS & Sustainability ITO procedure in the region
  • Contribute with EHS & Sustainability input into Go / No‑Go and Deal Review meetings, including risk and opportunity assessments
  • Support in all bid phases for all scopes, by analyzing the EHS & Sustainability policies and procedures provided by customer, analyzing Terms & Condition's and contracts of GEV and customers, in order to identify EHS and security risks for GEV and propose deviation, action and/or mitigation inside GEV and customer contracts to ensure compliance.
  • Support commercial and sales teams during negotiation with Customer, to address and mitigate risks, and escalate approvals when necessary.
  • Support on elimination or mitigation of EHS, environmental, and sustainability risks raised during ITO stage
  • Ensure alignment with GE Vernova policies, applicable laws, and customer expectations
  • Identify and evaluate the EHS & Sustainability resources and initiatives needs for the project and ensure they are included into the offer financials during tendering stage. 
  • Transfer information from ITO to the EHS OTR team during ITO/OTR handover process and collect feedback during OTR execution in order to re-inject the lessons learned inside the ITO process for new opportunities
  • Identify EHS & Sustainability costs during ITO phase for OTR Phase in order to integrate the appropriate costs in the Project and preserve margin.
  • Answer and support EHS qualification process initiated by customer to qualify GEV as a supplier
  • Support security and medical areas during the ITO Phase, intermediating the interactions when required
  • Keep an active contact with Regional Commercial team to follow up new and on going opportunities to ensure Regional EHS is involved to provide the appropriate assessment
  • Support the regional Commercial team on completing the EHS assessments via EHS Workflow and RAM and escalate the issues to the BL EHS team as soon as they are identified.
  • Promote EHS ITO internally with Commercial, also with Customers and Third Parties.

2. Environmental & Sustainability Expertise during OTR

  • Act as the regional expert and point of reference for:
    • Environmental protection
    • Sustainability and Environmental & Social topics during execution
  • Support OTR EHS and project teams in:
    • Interpreting environmental permits, regulatory requirements, and customer commitments
    • Defining and implementing environmental and sustainability management plans
  • Provide expert support in managing:
    • Environmental risks and incidents
    • Regulatory inspections and authority interactions
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to environmental or sustainability events

3. Permitting & Regulatory Interface

  • Provide senior guidance on customer permits and related processes, including:
    • Applicable Environmental permits and approvals
    • Interaction with authorities and regulators
  • Support customers and projects in identifying permitting risks early and embedding mitigation measures into execution strategies

4. Partner, Supplier, and Consortium Oversight

  • Implement the EHS & Sustainability qualification strategy for partners, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Lead discussions of EHS requirements and Terms and Conditions with partners and subcontractors, in order to present and apply the GEV procedures mandatorily in the agreement.
  • Support resolution of complex EHS, environmental, or sustainability issues involving third parties
