What we do:
The Supervision Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY) supervises banks in the Second District. The objectives of supervision are to:
Evaluate and promote the overall safety and soundness of supervised institutions
Ensure supervised institutions’ compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including consumer protection
Facilitate the stability of the financial system of the United States
Support the growth and stability of the U.S. economy
Supervision is carried out through a combination of methods, including on-site and off-site examinations involving staff dedicated to the supervision of an individual firm and other professionals focused on analytical, policy and risk matters. Supervision is coordinated with other US agencies.
The Regional and Community Financial Institution (RCFI) function is responsible for monitoring and assessing the safety and soundness of state member banks and domestic bank holding companies under $100 billion in the Second District. This includes state member banks and bank holding companies headquartered in Puerto Rico.
Your role as the Institutional Supervision Program Manager:
You will lead a dynamic team of five examiners, responsible for executing examinations and continuous monitoring, particularly at two state member banks and one domestic bank holding company. You will serve as the Central Point of Contact (CPC) for all of these entities. You will also oversee some analytical work across the broader RBO portfolio. You will actively engage with RCFI Function risk specialists who support day-to-day supervision of the institution, as well as work closely with a range of colleagues in the Federal Reserve System and at other supervisory agencies.
Core responsibilities include:
Model the behavior of a people leader by providing opportunities for members of the team to develop and grow in a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment. Exemplify a “One Portfolio” mindset in coaching and mentoring opportunities for your staff as well as others across the RCFI portfolio more broadly.
Develop and deliver high-quality execution of the end-to-end supervisory process for supervised institutions, with agility, responsiveness and supervisory judgment. This includes: identifying and prioritizing areas of supervisory focus for the supervisory plan; engaging regularly with supervised institutions’ boards of directors and senior executives, and counterparts at other supervisory agencies; being well-positioned to identify and escalate trends and emerging risks; and providing clear, persuasive, and timely communications on supervisory findings and the bases for supervisory assessments and ratings.
Motivate the team to a high standard of operational excellence in executing the end-to-end supervisory process.
Support senior management in the forward evolution and implementation of FRBNY and the Federal Reserve System’s strategic direction via active relationship building with FRBNY and RCFI portfolio peers and participation in associated committees and subcommittees.
Build and enhance an analytics framework that is directly responsive to changing supervisory priorities across a range of risk stripes and other priority areas, including the ability to collaborate with partners across the Bank and System.
