SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE:The Senior Global Inventory Planner will require a solid understanding of the supply chain management function and be responsible for all aspects of inventory management, planning and forecasting of Pure’s Global Service Inventory to meet customer SLA requirements while balancing the
financial budget. He or she will be responsible for inventory stocking decisions at stocking HUBS, FSL and DCs as well as repair and scrapping decisions.
Responsibilities Include:
- Global inventory planning of reworkable and non-reworkable (consumable) spare parts (FRU) to support Pure Storage customers contracts and meet Service Level Agreements
- New Buy and Repair forecast purchasing recommendations of assigned spare part families to ensure initial availability of New Product spares and availability of Existing Product spares while balancing the financial investment.
- Maintain targeted stocking levels within the Service Logistics Network to achieve goal of 96% on time support for customer Service Level Agreement (SLA)
- Monitor spares forecast monthly for accuracy based on actual requirements, orders, usage and other factors impacting spares inventory levels.
- Collaborate with Global Technical Support, Mfg. Operations and other members of GlobalService Logistics to better understand business impacts and product release information for forecasting spares inventory.
- Participation in discussions/review of product lifecycle management given the ability to perform adjustments to the spares forecast as necessary to meet customer contracts.
- Provide detailed, part level information including cost for planning requirements monthly, including final buys and other inventory cost outside of the standard inventory forecast.
- Understand and maintain inventory spare parts relationships based on engineering changes to utilize existing assets in the inventory network.
- Build relationship and product knowledge base with Product Support, Engineering & Global
- Sales to plan/forecast spares inventory increases/decreases, spare parts relationships, failure
- analysis and final buys, etc.
- Analyze Product/Part Discontinuations for final buy recommendations and execute to endure ongoing customer support for 7 years or for the life of product contracts.
- Responsible for E&O process, quarterly at a minimum, taking necessary actions to determine inventory SCRAP requirements for saleable and defective inventory.
- Basic knowledge of the logistics asset recovery process, Customer fulfillment and escalations process
- Ability to take a leadership role when necessary.
WHAT YOU"LL NEED TO BRING TO THE ROLE:
- Minimum of 5-8 years in global service logistics including parts planning and logistics management
- BS in Business, Logistics or related discipline
- Experience using Oracle, SAP, Baxter(preferred), or related planning application.
- Experience with System Integration is a plus.
- Export compliance and IOR/EOR experience are a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Comprehensive experience with MS Office suite and/or Google Docs
- Excellent communication skills
