As the Sr. HR Generalist at RWE Offshore Wind, you will embark on a dynamic role where relationship building, hands-on policy making, and professional growth are integral to your daily work. This complex role places you at the forefront of local HR support within our global HR Offshore functions. Join an expanding RWE Offshore Wind US team that seeks entrepreneurial professionals with a growth mindset, contributing to a fast-expanding international team in a diverse environment as part of a larger global organization. Your work office will be based in Boston, and you will report to the Head of People Management Americas Hub within a global functional matrix organization.
Your Responsibilities:
- Delivering day-to-day HR tasks and becoming the key local HR partner in supporting all HR-related processes in the US.
- Planning and conducting employee orientation to promote company performance goals and provide relevant information to new hires.
- Supporting expatriate management, including immigration support for local hires in partnership with the Global Mobility team and external vendors.
- Overseeing employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Identifying legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensuring policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant.
- Studying and assessing benefit needs and trends to establish comprehensive plans, making appropriate recommendations to the global HR Offshore Wind team.
- Working closely with the global HR team and acting as an interface between the local business and the headquarters.
- Ensuring compliance with all labor-related workers' compensation, social security, and the latest legislative laws and regulations.
- Aligning with an external payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate payment of cash compensation, overseeing payroll and benefits vendor activities.
- Administering benefit plans such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, employee assistance, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Fully completed Bachelors degree (or equivalent).
- At least 5 + years of hands-on human resource management experience in the US.
- Familiarity with US social security law, labor and employment law, and payroll tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, including the ability to read, write detailed reports, and deliver effective correspondence with keen attention to details.
- Solution-oriented mindset and a highly developed collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- High intercultural sensitivity and understanding of US and European business culture.
- Confident handling of stressful situations in a constantly changing business environment while communicating with all levels within a business setting.
- A high level of self-initiative and the ability to quickly set the right priorities, skilled at time management.
- Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken, combined with excellent customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HR applications and HRIS software.
