EquipmentShare is searching for a Contract - Entry Level/Intermediate Interior Designer - Retail/Corporate for our corporate office in Columbia, MO, to support our team as the department continues to grow.  

EquipmentShare is seeking a Contract - Entry Level/Intermediate Interior Designer - Retail/Corporate to be responsible for managing nationwide FF&E efforts and supporting the design team on new corporate Head Quarter projects. Your project types will be an exciting mix of both retail design and corporate workplace design. This is a Contract position through June of 2024. At that time, the team will reevaluate workload and the position will be considered to turn into a Full Time Employment Opportunity depending on necessity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure all design projects company-wide uphold the EquipmentShare design standards

  • Execute multiple designs under various deadlines

  • Ensure interior building environments are aesthetically pleasing, functional, and safe – with a working knowledge of building codes and accessibility standards

  • Participate in occasional site visits

  • Read, interpret, and explain complex technical documents

  • Collaborate with design team and furniture vendors to achieve project goals

  • Utilize Revit software to visualize designs, articulate interior architectural details, and complete construction documentation

  • Work within established purchasing network to evaluate and recommend furniture solutions

  • Maintain current knowledge of trends, materials, techniques and other developments in interior design – a passion for continuous learning

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications 

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture 

  • 4 - 6 years experience preferred 

  • NCIDQ certification preferred

  • Experience working with furniture dealerships and solid understanding of workflow

  • Experience across all phases of project delivery – conceptual through construction

  • Relevant work experience in retail and/or corporate workplace sectors preferred. Commercial experience is required

  • Ability to work well and take direction within an established design team – both in person and remotely

  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated time management skills

  • Ability to apply a sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing and engaging interior space

  • The ability to diagram designs digitally and by hand

  • Desire to seek, learn and utilize various design technologies, with proficiency in the following software:

    • Revit, Enscape/TwinMotion rendering software for Revit, AutoCAD

    • Adobe Creative Cloud - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

    • Google Apps and/or Microsoft Office Suite
