Job Description

Do you have a passion for understanding and promoting the Voice of the Customer/Market? Avery Dennison is seeking a Sr. Marketing Insights Analyst to join the Materials Group North America Marketing organization.

The Senior Marketing Insights Analyst will support execution of primary and secondary market research efforts, with a focus on delivering useful insights to the organization. As a member of a team that touches every part of the company, you will work on a wide range of high-visibility market segment projects supporting strategic direction, customer experience/satisfaction, journey mapping, product development, and other marketing efforts and innovation.

This position reports to the Director, Market and Customer Insights

Key responsibilities:

  • This position will be responsible for developing, executing, and socializing market research insights to support and influence strategic and innovation initiatives from emerging macro, industry and consumer trends.
  • The person will act as a thought leader and business partner who represents the “Voice of the Consumer/Customer” and helps craft our strategic marketing plans while ensuring the consumer/customer is at the center of everything we do.
  • You will collaborate with and support various teams to become the subject matter expert and provide hypothesis driven analysis using primary and secondary methodologies.
  • Develop and implement market segment insights learning plans, identifying key knowledge gaps, developing deeper understandings of consumer and business to business behavior toward the brand, product usage and packaging.
  • Translate and communicate market segment insights into compelling story-led reports and presentations to support strategic plans and recommendations that will drive innovation and change.
  • Discuss the information to Marketing, Sales and R&D and other functions for use in driving customer presentations, business strategies, new product ideas and direction.
  • Implement environment and trend analysis, Support senior team members in execution of qualitative and quantitative research projects from inception to final results, e.g., design, development, fieldwork, analysis and reporting
  • Champion research innovation and operational excellence, proactively seeking out and recommending potential improvements and providers
  • Support ad hoc requests and assume other responsibilities as they arise
  • Manage outside research companies as needed to deliver insights, trends and market data.
  • The role will also be accountable for the successful delivery of research projects to the business ensuring they are completed on time, aligned to objectives and connected to high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., marketing, economics, psychology, statistics)
  • 8 years of experience in primary and secondary market research/analysis, competitive intelligence, consumer and brand insights, strategy and innovation
  • B2B market research experience strongly desired
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project, high growth environmen
