Basic Job Functions:

The Environmental Coordinator is an active member of the division EHS team. They are responsible for taking initiative to implement actions and improve our division Environmental Program. They must lead, influence, coach and teach the division teammates. The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with air, water, waste licenses, rules, permits, regulations and environmental programs, including managing all administrative requirements. The Environmental Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing and managing plant-wide environmental projects, training, audits and community outreach.
 
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety practices, policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Compensation Data:

This is a salaried position with starting compensation ranging from $63,300 to $84,800 annually (depending on prior experience and qualifications). Additionally, this role is eligible for a division-earned Return on Assets bonus, which can be up to 33% of annual earnings, with a 10-year average of around 18%. This role also qualifies for our corporate annual Profit Sharing bonus, which has a 10-year average of approximately 14%.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Two years of experience in environmental compliance and wastewater treatment operations.
•    Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations 
•    Proven knowledge of Title V, SPDES, and hazardous waste standards.
•    Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Degree from an accredited university in engineering, environmental science, sustainability, or a related field.
•    Demonstrated success managing agency relationships and navigating audits or inspections
•    RCRA waste generation, storage, and proper disposal knowledge
•    Water treatment License
