Position Specific Description

The Project Engineering Leader will be the mentor for the Project Engineers across multiple regional teams within the Solar Distributed Generation department. They will create the process for developing 30% electrical designs in house, including developing calculation tools for common, repeatable steps like string and conductor sizing, as well as developing and maintaining a CAD template. With the support of the Subject Matter Experts, this role will establish the standard design practices for the Project Engineers and carry out their training and continued development. To be successful, this person must be able to build strong crossdisciplinarity relationships with the regional team leads, Project Managers, Estimators, and Construction leaders as well as their fellow engineers and mentees.  An excellent candidate will show mastery of electrical solar design, a strong competence in understanding the civil and mechanical portions of the designs, have a proven track record of strong leadership ability, be very organized, and have comfortability presenting their work to leadership and discussing solutions directly with customers and subcontractors.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's - Engineering
  • Experience: 6+ years
  • Supervisor/Management Experience:0+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
  • Master's Degree
  • Six Sigma Master Black Belt
