Job Purpose and Impact
The Junior Cocoa Products Merchant will be a dynamic contributor to the Strategic Pricing Team at Cargill Cocoa and Chocolate. This role is instrumental in driving the business towards its goals, which include achieving annual budget and volume growth targets, developing and implementing robust pricing strategies, maximizing asset utilization, effectively managing product risk, facilitating contract execution, and generating market insights through a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics and supply-demand factors.
Key Accountabilities
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of cocoa markets and the operational framework of the cocoa and chocolate industry across the value chain.
- Work in tandem with inter-regional commercial teams to strategize and facilitate intercompany trade flows.
- Play a pivotal role, under the guidance of the margin manager, in strategic pricing and commercial management of specific business segments.
- Engage collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, quality assurance, customer and credit management, to ensure smooth contract execution and optimal utilization of assets.
- Contribute to the strategic pricing infrastructure by routinely updating data, generating reports and suggesting enhancements based on these insights.
- Act as a liaison with multi-disciplinary teams, aligning actions with the Strategic Pricing team's decisions.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in commodity markets, risk, and asset management.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical acumen, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
- Creative, self-driven, confident, with a keenness to learn and excellent listening skills.
- Ability to navigate uncertainty and make informed decisions with incomplete information.
- Ownership and accountability for personal decision-making.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and persuade without direct authority.
- Capability to synthesize information from various sources into a cohesive narrative.
