NEW POSITION! Apply here to be a Delivery Assistant with the Bamboo Sushi Commissary Kitchen. The Delivery Assistant supports delivery operations between the commissary kitchen and restaurant locations.

Join us in moving the Bamboo Sushi mission forward through:

• Assist in loading delivery vehicles with prepared food items, ingredients, and supplies from the commissary kitchen. 
• Receive, confirm, and appropriately label containers, with dates, and store deliveries made while on shift. 
• Handles, stores, and rotates all product properly
• Work as a team to ensure consistent and timely picking and packing of all commissary food orders with 100% accuracy.
• Ensure all items are packed securely and accurately into the company vehicle (box truck) according to delivery schedules for restaurant locations across Portland Metro. 
• Accompany delivery driver on assigned routes.
• Unload items at restaurant locations, ensuring items are delivered safely and in good condition.
• Put away delivered items in designated storage areas in the restaurants.
• tock product and conduct inventory at each drop-off location, ensuring proper and accurate labeling.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring the safe and sanitary handling of food items during loading and delivery.

Qualifications:

• Experience in delivery or logistics role preferred
• Experience in the food service industry required, preferably from a full-service restaurant or production kitchen
• Knowledge of proper food handling, prep, and storage
• Valid Food Handler’s card required
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Customer service-oriented attitude

Environment

Work is performed primarily in and out of restaurant setting with public contact and frequent interruptions. 

 Physical

The person in this position needs to occasionally or frequently:

• Maneuver about inside the restaurant/office to access food/beverage items, machinery, and other restaurant equipment
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to heavy amounts of weight up to 50lbs
• Operate basic office equipment
• Operate basic restaurant equipment
• Ascend/descend a ladder or stairs to service the machinery, lights, ceiling fans, etc.
• Be able to exchange accurate information while communication with customers
• Be able to distinguish different tastes, i.e., sweet and bitter flavors.
• Work in a noisy/distracting environment
