SUMMARY:
The Field Medical Director is responsible for providing therapeutic area/product expertise across a broad range of KOLs and initiatives in an assigned territory. As a core member of the medical affairs team, you will implement strategic and educational medical affairs plan at the local level and provide medical and scientific support to internal stakeholders, notably to Pierre Fabre US Medical Affairs.
The Field medical Director represents Pierre Fabre Medical Affairs in the field for the Medical Innovative Oncology portfolio; is the scientific contact for HCP information and clinical trial requests and can serve as medical and scientific resource to all internal PF stakeholders; if needed, provides medical review for promotional & non-promotional materials and supports internal Medical functions upholding MA and internal Pierre Fabre Medical Affairs guidelines.
The position is field based in the Mid-west region, Ideally in the Chicago area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and sustain long-term scientific interactions with relevant Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) guided by the therapeutic area strategy and patient need
- Ensure KOL/Treatment centers/ mapping and scientific profiling
- Act as a primary Liaison for company sponsored- clinical trials, Real-World studies, Managed access programs and investigator-initiated studies (IIS)
- Collaborate in the development of the US Medical Plan and implement regional key tactics
- Plan and execute medical strategy and engagement for appropriate assigned customers within a territory, compliantly coordinating with other Pierre-Fabre colleagues as needed to achieve medical objectives
- Gather insights on HCPs educational needs to guide the medical strategy
- Develop a medical regional territory action plan, aligned with both Global and National medical strategies
- Support scientific publications and patient centricity activities
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced degree in life sciences (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, DO)
- Previous experience in Onco-Hematology/lymphoma/Cell Therapy is a MUST
- Prior experience as an MSL
- Prior experience with implementation of medical tactics
- Proven Ability to work in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders, such as Commercial, Marketing, Medical Strategy team and with other field personnel
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in life sciences, including onco-hematology and significant time in a customer-facing role
- Interpersonal skills with ability to create and sustain credible relationships with HCPs
- Ability to understand HCPs’ needs and to convey emergent scientific information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to give lectures and training on medical science topics to groups of varying sizes
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to design and moderate medical meetings to facilitate peer-to-peer discussions
- Have high ethical standards and recognized personal integrity and in-depth understanding of the applicable ethics and compliance industry standards
- Willing to travel with overnight stays
