Job Description Summary

Under general supervision, perform a variety of genetic, molecular and microscopic techniques to analyze matrix gene functions in C. elegans. Also assist with lab organization by maintaining lab stocks, keeping records, maintaining lab instruments, and monitoring lab safety procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare staged C. elegans samples and image by confocal microscopy

• Perform microinjections, genome editing and genetic crosses to generate new C. elegans strains

• Generate plasmid constructs by molecular cloning and PCR

• Organize and maintain lab stocks, records and equipment, and monitor lab safety procedures

• Attend lab meetings, scientific talks, etc.

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
