Key Responsibilities:

  • Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primer.
  • Painting: Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Finishing Work: Perform touch-ups and repairs to ensure a flawless finish.
  • Color Matching: Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and client specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other trades and team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Training: Complete all required C&W Safety Training as scheduled annually
  • Uniform: Comply with C&W Uniform Dress Code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hour.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a professional painter.
  • Skills: Proficient in various painting techniques and tools. Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of different types of paints, finishes, and surface preparation techniques.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Certification: Relevant certifications or training in painting and finishing (preferred).

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record with periodic checks (where applicable)
  • Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel & Word - This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing system.
  • Complete all required C&W Safety Training as scheduled annually.
  • Comply with C&W Uniform Dress Code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hours.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional training or certification in painting or a related field is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, in various weather conditions.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials, and work on ladders or scaffolding.
  • Local Travel: Regularly required to travel outside between properties.

May be only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and/or on call duties

  • Must have ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices
  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work
  • Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you
  • Ability to read and understand information presented orally and in writing
  • Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed materia
