(Job #545807) Administrator I, Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance & Student Success, Salary Range: $4,135 - $12,288; Hiring Range: $4,135 - $6,200. This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, 12-month pay plan position in Athletics. This position is an Administrator I in the California State University Management Personnel Plan (MPP). Under this plan, incumbents are subject to normal management reviews and serve at the pleasure of the University President. Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance & Student Success reports to the Executive Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and works in support of the goals and operations of the department. This position is a senior leader for Intercollegiate Athletics and sits on the Executive Committee of the department. It requires knowledge of the collegiate academic environment to ensure that Cal Poly Humboldt Intercollegiate Athletics complies with NCAA rules and delivers necessary academic support to its student-athletes. It also involves select sport-oversight responsibilities and may be asked to provide oversight to other matters pertaining to the operational needs of Intercollegiate Athletics.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Manages and administers all athletics department activity for NCAA rules compliance. 

  • Ensure that Intercollegiate Athletics is compliant with all NCAA, CCAA, and Cal Poly Humboldt rules and regulations by proactively designing, implementing and coordinating all athletics compliance procedures and processes according to the NCAA's applicable guidelines, requirements and best practices.
  • Serve as the superuser for Teamwork’s compliance software, ensuring all appropriate operations are managed through the software to allow for compliance tracking. 
  • Responsible for managing and ensuring the accuracy of appropriate data management systems, including teamwork’s software, PeopleSoft, and all other utilized platforms.
  • Responsible for advising executive leadership of rules, regulations and changes and for providing strategic planning and implementation to ensure department compliance.
  • Administer eligibility certifications processes.

 

Oversight of Recruiting and Financial Aid

  • Administers all athletics aid policies and procedures, including Grant-In Aid awards, National Letter of Intent signing, budget/equivalency tracking and summer scholarships with coaching staffs and Financial Aid office.
  • Monitor all recruiting activities to ensure compliance with NCAA regulations.
