Job Overview
The Associate Art Director, Special Projects will oversee creative concepts production and execution of social content focused on IP events throughout year and brand campaigns. This role will lead and support the development, production, and delivery of Parade content across multiple platforms, from behind-the-scenes moments to brand storytelling and live event coverage.
In addition to Parade responsibilities, this role will also contribute to a wide range of studio and brand initiatives throughout the year, supporting content for seasonal campaigns, events, and special activations.
The ideal candidate is both a creative problem solver and a production expert, with the ability to take a project from concept to final delivery. This person will work closely with internal teams, external agencies, and production vendors to deliver best-in-class content. They will also be hands-on in production when needed, with strong skills in shooting, directing, and collaborating in post-production.
This role requires someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and deeply passionate about creative storytelling, production logistics, and elevating brand experiences through exceptional content.
What You Will Do
- Lead and support the concepting and production of creative content for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the 100th-year celebration.
- Produce event and studio shoots, behind-the-scenes content, and special brand storytelling pieces that bring the IP events experience to life.
- Work on additional projects throughout the year, including brand campaigns, seasonal shoots, and special events.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to develop creative concepts and execute production plans that align with brand objectives.
- Manage all aspects of production, including scheduling, crew management, budgeting, and logistics.
- Serve as a key liaison between creative, production, and post-production teams, ensuring clarity and consistency across all projects.
- Direct and oversee on-set production, providing creative direction and leadership to crew, talent, and partners.
- Shoot content independently when necessary using iPhones or DSLR/cameras.
- Develop detailed creative briefs, storyboards, and pitch decks to communicate creative direction.
- Collaborate with design and social teams using tools such as Figma to visualize and refine creative ideas.
- Support and supervise post-production, including editing, color, sound, and delivery.
- Work with internal agency partners and external vendors to ensure creative excellence and production efficiency.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, resource optimization, and creative innovation.
- Stay informed on industry trends, production techniques, and emerging technologies to keep content fresh and forward-thinking.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
Skills You Will Need
- 7+ years of experience in production or creative content development, ideally in entertainment, live events, or branded storytelling.
- Proven ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously with exceptional organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of all phases of production, from creative concepting to delivery.
- Experience directing or producing on set, with the ability to guide both creative and technical teams.
- Hands-on production skills including camera operation, lighting, and field production.
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other production-related software.
- Strong creative and visual judgment with a sharp attention to detail.
