Position Overview

The Division of Rehabilitation Services is seeking to hire a detail-oriented and organized individual to maintain the commodity storeroom and perform property control services for the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired (ISVI). Receives, inspects, stocks, and maintains inventory of commodities purchased for use by students and staff. Maintains computerized commodity and physical inventory records, transfers, relocations, etc., and other ledgers and files as appropriate.

Essential Functions

• Controls the storeroom and all storekeeping functions for the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired (ISVI).

• Inspects all items received against all orders placed to ensure specifications are met for quality, quantity and price.

• Responsible for the complete physical inventory and records of equipment and real property for, but not limited to, ISVI.

• Processes and maintains the keeping of important inventory changes and records additions, deletions, transfers, location changes, inventory tag assignments, missing or stolen item reports, loans, surplus and obsolete equipment.

• Ensures that all items in store stock are assigned inventory numbers and are properly added to the store inventory.

• Participates in the annual inventory of store stock.

• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years high school.

• Requires two (2) years experience in the keeping of stores and stores records.
