Director of Construction

TxDOT's Odessa District is looking for a Director of Construction to manage an aggressive construction program with a letting volume of about $400 million per year over the next 4 years and nearly $1.5 billion currently under contract.  The DOC reports directly to the District Engineer.  The DOC should be an innovative Professional Engineer with an ability to deliver reasoned, timely responses to changing construction constraints and field conditions; to build and maintain contractor relations; and to provide support for Area Engineering offices in the construction of projects under heavy industrial traffic.  Projects are focused on providing safe and reliable transportation infrastructure for continuing development of the nation’s largest oil field – the Permian Basin – where production is projected to grow from 3.5 million barrels/day today to over 6 million barrels per day in the next 3 years.
