Job Summary:

Provides critical leadership for the decommissioning and data retention portfolio, driving the strategy, coordination, and execution of a complex portfolio of system retirements. Leads team of application analysis and product managers for development, execution and monitoring of product roadmaps. Ensures products deliver capabilities needed by customers. Facilitates governance process to ensure compliance with institutional policies for application decommissioning and data retention.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure decommissioning and data retention efforts are timely, compliant, and aligned with business, regulatory, and operational needs.

  • Managing dependencies across projects, vendors, and stakeholders for effective application decommissioning and data retention efforts

  • Identifies opportunities to reduce risk, cost, and technical debt through technology evaluation and portfolio rationalization

  • Deliver consistent execution and strengthens portfolio and lifecycle management practices

  • Translates decommission/data retention needs into projects on a project roadmap.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Project management experience (preferred)

  • Vendor / Contract management experience (a plus)

  • Any decommissioning of applications and/or data archival experience (a plus)


TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Product Knowledge (Advanced): Demonstrates high levels of product knowledge. Is often relied upon by others for knowledge of the product and plays a lead role in projects related to the product. Has some experience in developing/supporting applications specific to the product.
• Project Coordination (Advanced): Manages interdependencies among multiple related and unrelated projects whose coordinated delivery is required to achieve higher organizational objectives. Identifies opportunities for cross-discipline participation. Develops and documents project policies and procedures. Manages the overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of major project efforts, ensuring that project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, scope, and resource requirements. Contributes to the development of Project Coordination best practices for the organization.
• Product Vendor Management (Advanced): Is relied upon for the development of the most complex consulting, training, software and hardware contracts for the corporation. Develops and monitors vendor performance, relating to duties specific to their service level agreement: average speed of answer, service levels, conversion rates, quality assurance etc. Ensures clarity, accountability, communication and cooperation. Leads the formation of teams to develop the necessary technical specifications. Works with contracts that span various departments or corporate locations. Has been involved in the mediation of contract disputes. Consistently delivers services in a creative and imaginative manner while setting a standard for others.
• Emerging Technologies (Advanced): Demonstrates high levels of knowledge in new and emerging technologies. Contributes to strategic planning in areas which require expert knowledge and experience. Participates in advanced technology efforts for the company, evaluating and testing new products to determine their value and applicability to the organization. Often takes a lead role in critical situations where there is a need to apply knowledge of technological trends, emerging technology and/or new tools and products. Successfully selects and implements new technology to meet requirements of state-of-the-art systems and projects. Helps set standards and establish procedures relating to new technological products and services. Actively participates in outside professional organizations and forums.
