THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director, Program Management, to execute the Global Data & Analytics strategy by leading and overseeing the D&A PMO function that manages complex data and analytics projects and initiatives across the Global Data & Analytics organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, and ensuring successful delivery of high-impact D&A solutions. The Director, Program Management, will play a critical role in aligning D&A work with business objectives and technical execution, fostering innovation, and maintaining a strong focus on value, quality, and efficiency. The Director, Program Management, will also lead a team of project managers (scrum masters), develop and deploy operating model best practices, drive standards and consistency across the D&A deliveries, manage program risks and issues, program financials, change management, ROI analysis, stakeholder alignment, and program governance. This leader will be responsible for program-related communication, tailoring the level of information to the audience. This leader is expected to assist in managing relationships with third party vendors, working with finance and procurement in assisting the D&A leaders in budget planning, program communications and success measurements, ensuring the ultimate success of the D&A initiatives.

This role can be located in any of our business units in the US.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Program & Project Management

  • Oversee Complex Programs: Lead the full lifecycle of data analytics programs from initiation through to successful delivery.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation. Monitor progress and adjust plans to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Risk & Stakeholder Management

  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential project risks, assess their impact, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Establish clear communication channels with executives, business partners, and technical teams. Provide regular status updates and tailored communications that foster alignment and transparency.

Strategic Planning & Business Alignment

  • Align with Business Objectives: Collaborate with senior leadership to define project goals and translate high-level business objectives into actionable project plans.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong alliances with key teams—including Engineering, Product, and IT—to drive shared commitment and support for data initiatives.

Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Mentor & Develop Talent: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of project managers (Scrum Masters), fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Implement Best Practices: Drive process improvements and best practices across the Data & Analytics organization to enhance efficiency and scalability in program execution.

Budget Planning & Vendor Management

  • Financial Oversight: Manage program budgets, track expenses, and ensure optimal resource allocation. Collaborate with Finance and Procurement to support budget planning.
  • Vendor Coordination: Oversee relationships with third-party vendors to secure cost-effective and reliable solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Analytics) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Extensive understanding of Project Management principles, methods and techniques. PMP, Scrum, and SAFe certified. Experience with Agile or other iterative development methodologies is highly desirable. Retail industry experience is a plus.
