In the Unified Technology Group Program Management Office (UTG PMO), we are always thinking about our customers and how we can ensure we deliver the high-quality products they have come to expect from ServiceNow: transformative, secure, compliant, and on time. It is up to us to drive new product development to the finish line and into our customers’ workplaces.    

The Unified Technology Group seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Principal Technical Program Manager to partnering with the Unified Technology Group (UTG) leadership team on the development and execution of programs to deliver priority initiatives. This role requires a strategic mindset, deep technical expertise, and exceptional program management skills to drive alignment across multiple teams, deliver high-impact solutions, and ensure successful program execution at scale. 

This is a leadership role, and the ideal candidate will have a proven track record partnering with and influencing executives, managing complex programs, strategic and tactical execution of operational processes, and a good understanding of project management in critical environments.

 The primary responsibilities will be driving critical cross-functional engineering engagements. You will partner with all levels of stakeholders to ensure cross-functional alignment on deliverables, ownership, program structure, workstreams, schedule, dependencies, and success criteria; you will ensure issues and risks are communicated and addressed effectively. You will deliver high-quality, relevant, timely, and accurate information to enable key decisions and drive the successful completion of the priority initiative(s). To succeed in this role, you should have a comprehensive understanding of software development, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.  

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry. 
  • Provide program leadership and strategic thinking across the UTG organization on engineering initiatives, from initiation through development of the program plan, execution, and operationalization.  

  • Drive the most important and complex strategic programs in the engineering organization.  

  • Define, build, and implement new technical and operational processes across the organization for scale and efficiency.  

  • Architect programs that are large and complex into manageable workstreams and deliverables.  

  • Lead and manage cross-organizational collaboration strategy, including executive engagement plan.  

  • Effectively present and communicate to an executive audience and technical program teams.  

Qualifications: 

  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software development, system architecture, and technical trade-offs. 
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. 

  • Expertise in program management methodologies, tools, and frameworks, with a track record of optimizing processes in a growing organization. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and drive clarity and alignment. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in cloud computing, SaaS platforms, or large-scale distributed systems. 

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • PMP, PgMP, or Agile certifications are a plus.
