Job Summary
Lead the North American Event Marketing team to drive customer-focused marketing strategies that build strong sales funnels, deliver athlete registration and revenue targets, foster brand affinity, and encourage loyalty. This role requires exceptional leadership, data-driven decision-making, multichannel marketing expertise, and a passion for customer-centric experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership:
- Build and lead an innovative, collaborative and high performing marketing team (12 roles) to execute strategic, data-driven campaigns that meet business objectives.
- Foster a team culture, aligned with company values, that drives success through shared goals.
- Serve as a senior leader within North America and Global Marketing leadership teams, collaborating with the Chief Marketing Officer and regional stakeholders.
- Present marketing performance and strategies to senior executives in weekly meetings and quarterly reviews.
Event Marketing:
- Own event registration and revenue targets for all North American brands, currently spanning across triathlon, trail running and road running events.
- Develop and execute regional marketing strategies based on data insights to achieve commercial and loyalty goals.
- Craft go-to-market strategies for new events and optimize existing campaigns for success.
- Tailor marketing efforts to the unique needs of athletes and sports communities within the region.
- Oversee the execution of global customer growth and retention programs in North America.
- Manage content creation deliverables, including photography and videography briefs.
Budget Management:
- Own and manage North America marketing budgets (Opex & Capex), ensuring efficient spending and strong ROI.
- Plan annual marketing budgets and pricing strategies in alignment with regional and global objectives.
- Lead the creation and implementation of pricing and volume strategies to meet financial targets.
Media and PR:
- Collaborate with Global Communications on major events and key business changes to ensure cohesive messaging.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and best practices to optimize team efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- MA in Marketing, Communication/Media Studies, or an MBA.
- 10+ years of marketing experience, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in omni-channel marketing, data-driven strategies, and customer retention.
- Expertise in go-to-market strategies, pricing, and product positioning.
- Experience in endurance sports, ticketing, or premium direct-to-consumer brands is a plus.
