The State of Maine Office of Behavioral Health is looking for an analytic professional who strives to utilize data to guide programming, decision making, and service delivery to support the behavioral health needs of Mainers. The Supervisor for Data and Quality will work closely with the Associate Director for Data and Quality to provide data management, data analysis, data visualization, among other strategies to support the use of data and to inform the work performed by the Office of Behavioral Health.            

Job Duties:  
•    Lead the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) data team in routine monitoring and evaluation of information and data systems to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance. 
•    Support and assist the OBH data team in evaluating and reporting for a diverse array of programs related to substance use and mental health. 
•    Utilize knowledge of data evaluation, data analysis, data visualization, and applicable laws and polices to ensure robust, accurate, and useful data that can be utilized and understood by a wide range of staff and stakeholders. 
•    Collaborate with program staff, grant managers, and other evaluators to monitor performance and achievement of grants and programs. 
•    Identify and amplify key findings relevant to OBH’s mission to support Maine people with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders in living not only symptom-free, but with dignity, hope, and meaning.
•    Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills are essential for supervision the data team and support for the Associate Director. 

Requirements:  The successful candidate will possess eight (8) years of combined education, training, and experience in behavioral health, public policy, or data analytics fields, or management including two (2) years in a program administrative or supervisory capacity. Preference will be given to those with advanced degrees in public health, statistics, data science, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications: High proficiency in Excel and Tableau is strongly desired. Familiarity with R, SQL, and other coding software is strongly preferred.
