Position Overview:

The Regional Director role is a key leadership position supporting our integrated sites, reporting into our RVP of Megasites & Conversions. This leader is expected to be a functional expert with the proven ability to foster meaningful and collaborative relationships cross-functionally across various levels of leadership. Great candidates for this role must have a proven track record of leading and growing Senior Leaders while seamlessly implementing key changes and growth or efficiency initiatives. They must also have strong understanding and an excellent track record of leading Auction Operations and be able to travel with the existing Special Operations team for key integrations and on-going site support (80% travel required). Additional strengths necessary for this role include but are not limited to: expert communication skills, strategic data analysis, ability to quickly identify areas of opportunity and independently recommend viable solutions, change management and leadership. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build strong relationships throughout the organization; utilize functional relationships to ensure ADESA integration and growth initiatives are successfully being implemented throughout the organization.
  • Strategically work through and with various teams to identify project prioritization and drive key business initiatives. 
  • Participate in the development of strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the ADESA Special Operations  team, ensuring alignment with the goals and objectives of ADESA and Carvana. 

Utilize data to quickly identify areas of opportunity  and recommend solutions to improve business activities and performance.

  • Advise senior leaders on strategic goals by gathering and analyzing pertinent business, financial, and operational information.
  • Ensure efficient and economical performance of the ADESA Special Operations team in accordance with strategic plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Partner with our project management and operations teams to ensure change management initiatives are effectively executed across the organization. 
  • Provide mentoring and accountability to a team of senior leaders. Successfully execute efficient succession planning through appropriate coaching, leadership development, and performance management.
  • Act as a key point-of-contact and change agent for other business groups throughout Carvana and ADESA. 
  • Partner cross-functionally to clearly conceptualize and build new processes, systems, programs/platforms to be effective in our operation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What the job requires:

To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience leading complex business transformation initiatives, developing people, and solving complex operational problems in a high-volume, lean manufacturing environment. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of key operations principles (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc). 
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in Google Suite and related business and communication tools.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional, courteous manner.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues without guidance from others. 
  • Ability to guide others through complex issue resolution. 
  • Ability to solve complex problems and successfully lead change.
