This is a contingent position based upon contract award

KBR is seeking a highly motivated and career-oriented Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Manager to join our team supporting a government client with locations in Washington Metropolitan Area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish clear environmental, safety, and health priorities and manage activities to minimize injuries and fatalities and prevent worker exposure to harmful substances and environments.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in a manner that minimizes waste and complies with all health, safety, and environmental requirements, including laws, regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Ensure that all Contractor personnel have received proper and recurrent safety training appropriate to their respective jobs.
  • Ensure construction demolition activities are performed in a safe manner, utilizing safety barricades, signs, and signal lights and that the activities comply with the regulations promulgated under the OSHA Act of 1970; and Engineering Manual (EM 385).
  • Ensure the Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) of contractors, sub-contractors, government personnel, and the public.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes and safety of health standards.
  • Ensure the use of prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to promote SOH.
  • Develop written site-specific OSHA Standards and Requirements Plans for implementing OSHA standards and any SOH requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) management system conforming to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 “Environmental Management Systems” and ISO 45001 “Occupational Health and Safety Management System” to identify deficiencies, resolve them in a timely manner, and ensure that corrective actions are implemented.
  • Report directly to the Program Manager/Site Manager.
  • Coordinate, administer, and oversee all Safety and Health Program activities carried out as part of the contract.
  • Conduct facility surveys, staff assistance visits, and audits to evaluate local program effectiveness and identify areas of nonconformance or potential liability.
  • Compile and analyze accident, injury, and property loss data to identify root-cause relationships and trends.
  • Assist management in formulating Corrective Action Plans to reduce incidents.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Clearance Requirement:  TS/SCI with willingness to sit for a poly upon request
  • 10 years’ experience with large, complex requirements of similar scope of experience
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Professional Certification in Industrial Hygiene, Safety or Environmental Sciences (Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH); Certified Safety Professional (CSP); Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP)

Desired:

  • Bachelors or Master's of Science from ABET accredited program in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management, Environmental Sciences or related equivalent degree

Basic Compensation:

$86,200 - $129,300

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
