QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years previous retail experience.
  • Minimum 3 years previous supervisory experience, retail preferred.
  • Able to operate POS cash register.
  • Able to schedule and supervise employees.
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License and show proof of insurance.
  • Must pass a background check which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management, employees, customers, and donors.
  • Able to maintain confidential records.
  • Able to use a computer (inc. Outlook, Word, Excel), copier, multi-line phone system, and 10 key calculator.
  • Prepared to train, motivate, and redirect as necessary.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Responsible for the overall operation of the Thrift Store.
    2. Active participation in development of daily/monthly/annual sales goals, advertising, and Store promotions/discounts with Corps Officer.
    3. Provides training, development, and coaching of Store personnel.
    4. Responsible for the morale, safety, and productivity of Store personnel.
    5. Develop and coordinate Store schedules, shifts, assigned areas, and/or team meetings, with copies emailed to Corps Officer.
    6. Supervise employees in performance of duties to ensure compliance with published directives and guidelines.
    7. Ensures customer and donor needs are met by maintaining good customer/donor/community relations, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient.
    8. Responsible for addressing personnel issues, maintaining confidentiality, processing of paperwork including time and attendance notifications, and communicate information to Corps Officer.
    9. Ensure all cash handling procedures are followed (i.e. two employees counting, locked office door, safe remains locked unless in use).
    10. Timely completion of Daily Store Sales, bank deposits, and any change requests. Timely submission of Store Sales reports and deposit slips to Accounting Clerk.
    11. Supervision of volunteers and/or community service workers.
    12. Report any accidents or injuries to the Corps Officers, including required documentation.
    13. Maintain Store merchandising standards; including adequate inventories on hand, timely rag outs, and that the Store is clean, neat, and organized.
    14. Adherence to Illness and Injury Prevention Program practices, holding Safety and Team Meetings, practice Fire Drills and Code Adam. All hazards are to be reported to the Corps Officer.
