Job Description
Laboratory Technical Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage technical lab operations in collaboration with Sr. Leadership
- Demonstrates strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaboration – promotes company vision
- Proactively plans and multitasks to maximize productivity, performance, and gain efficiencies
- Applies GMP/GLP/ISO 17025 compliance standards in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
- Recognizes errors, identifies root causes, and applies process improvements
- Manages technical laboratory operations, LEAN, and safety initiatives
- Works with Quality Assurance to ensure data is accurate and quality control measures are adequate while maintaining efficiency and productivity. Assists in change control procedures
- Writes, reviews, and approves protocols, reports, SOPs
- Provides clear and concise feedback.
- Drives programs independently and builds relationships with partners at all levels of the organization, and externally.
- Communicates (oral and written) effectively and shows attention to detail
- Keeps accurate records, follows instructions, and complies with company policies
- Demonstrates self-motivation, adaptability, high energy, sound decision-making, and a positive attitude. Ensure all conflicts and performance issues are addressed in a timely manner, following company policies
- Ensure all established Organization and Client metrics and KPIs are met
- Contribute to overall organization successes, including but not limited to participating in committees, attending and participating in PSS-level organization meetings, etc.
- Ensure employees are provided with growth and development tools
- Lead assigned teams, schedules, and trains employees in the client environment
- Lead special projects, organizing technical resources and staff to accomplish within given deadlines
- Work with the group leaders to oversee routine and non-routine testing operations.
- Works and consults with the method development team on methods involving GC, GC-MS, LC, LC-MS, and various related technologies
- Drive method validation projects in the labs
- Liaison with the metrology team
- Stay current with chromatography technology and consult knowledgeably with labs
- Offer recommendations for improvement in test methods and troubleshooting methods
- Act as Subject Matter Expert during regulatory audits and inspections
- Ensure adherence to the highest quality and efficiency standards in the laboratory operations
- Drive a positive, high-quality, and energy culture through inspirational leadership
- Foster morale and teamwork, and demonstrate role model leadership
- Performs Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess:
- Multi-year experience in a GLP/cGMP regulated environment
