Job Description
At TOMRA Food we are committed to our brand and as we continue to invest globally, we are looking for passionate and driven Field Service Engineer to join our team. Your work will be purposeful, and you will play an important role in helping the business achieve some exciting goals.
The Field Service Engineer is responsible for delivering exceptional technical support, maintenance, installation, and customer training services for TOMRA's cutting-edge recycling and waste sorting equipment. This role aims to ensure the seamless operation of TOMRA's solutions, maximize equipment performance, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Primary Job Functions
- Install and modify equipment at customer sites ensuring full functionality per specifications.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, electronic, and optical tuning and setup.
- Analyze and diagnose equipment issues independently, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Troubleshoot machine problems through to resolution and conduct preventative maintenance.
- Collaborate with engineering for process improvement and document work instructions.
- Maintain customer relations by providing updates and identifying sales opportunities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and assist in training new engineers.
Qualifications
About you
- A degree or certification in electrical, electronic, automation, mechanical or industrial engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency electronics/electrical assembly, PC diagnostics, wiring, and interpreting technical procedures.
- Strong customer service skills, maintaining professional relationships.
- Excellent communication abilities, particularly in English, with Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Experience in field service, PC building, software installation, and packaging/printing machinery is hihgly preferred.
- Familiarity with project management and electronic system troubleshooting is beneficial.
Work Environment
- Must be able to work on the road and work at customer sites: Food plants, farms, and high/low temperature facilities.
Physical Requirements
- Be able to lift up to 80 lbs of equipment on a regular basis
- Must be able to frequently bend, kneel, or stand and work in confined spaces
- Ability to distinguish between the full range of colors in the color spectrum.
- No major food allergies that would impede ability to work around or near food, nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
Travel
- Be on the road travelling at least 70% of the time, based on a flexible schedule; including weekends and/or holidays
- Ability to drive without restrictions
