Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Independently provide leadership for the creation, coordination, execution and growth of complex research programs. Lead research teams offering guidance on delivering solutions and products to customers. Develop and oversee standards and processes. Lead complex research and regulatory issues identifying solutions and improvement processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Oversees the activities of research teams through understanding system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member. • Provides leadership to support highly technical and scientifically novel research programs that are expected to experience significant change, expansion or evolution over time. • Identifies appropriate resources needed by reviewing funding sources and develops schedules to ensure time completion of projects. • Collaborates with executive leadership, organizational departmental, scientific and clinical leads and others to operationalize the mission, strategic plan, budgets, resource allocation, operational plans, and policies. • Leads project teams and coaches the development of direct reports and other staff to implement multiple complex projects. • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned. Leaders state precise goals, ensures the commitment of individuals to those goals, defines the methods of measurement, and provides the incentive to accomplish measureable outcomes. • Research Infrastructure Development (Advanced): Provides leadership for the creation, development, execution and growth of large-scale infrastructure for complex research programs. Responsible for managing large scale participant initiatives. Serves as the central resource for the research community to provide expertise and guidance on complex issues, operational goals, business strategies, ethical considerations, regulatory mandates, and institutional policies. Educates academic medical center consortium partners regarding resources available to clinicians and researchers to improve all aspects of the research enterprise. • Translational Science Facilitation (Advanced): Develops and executes and oversees research program plans, goals and objectives in collaboration with executive leadership. Plans, organizes, and oversees the management of resources to bring about the successful completion of study goals and objectives. Monitors costs, expenses and revenue as well as manages those costs and expenses in relation to budgeted amounts. Collaborates with executive leadership and other colleagues in development and submission of grant proposals related to key national initiatives. • Research Networks Support (Advanced): Oversees regulatory and other related aspects of support for institutional and national research networks. Partners with investigators and study partners to deliver safe and effective research designs for studies in line with federal regulations and institutional policies and procedures. Provides quality assurance support with focus on compliance with methods, facilities and controls as they relate to federal regulations. Serves as a resource to investigators to assist and provide guidance and education regarding data privacy and security through experience with and knowledge of privacy issues and related federal regulations.
