As a Community Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in diving deep into your regions, cultivating strong talent, aligning resources, and driving growth. SHAPING THE FUTURE FOR TEENS AND YOURSELF
As a Community Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Take responsibility for the health and viability of your regions, its programming and relationships.
- Deploy staff strategically to sustain activities across geographies.
- Lead the team to achieve goals around membership, experiences, and participation.
- Hire, train and supervise full-time BBYO teammates in their area.
- Develop direct reports with an expectation of high performance and promotion.
- Ensure chapter and regional program is of the highest caliber.
- Serve as the final arbiter on compliance, discipline issues and parent concerns.
- Seek out and develop relationships with parents, alumni and community partners to mobilize more people to grow BBYO, and drive metrics.
- Build a strong culture aligned with BBYO’s Culture Credo
- Participate in organizational projects, teams, and summer programs as assigned to expand the movement and strengthen teen leadership.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR MAKING A LASTING IMPACT
Our team has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation to drive positive change. Additionally, for Community Directors, these skills are key to success:
- Proven ability to foster a positive, healthy, and collaborative team culture while driving measurable growth.
- Familiarity with budget management and financial oversight.
- Experience: 7+ years of work experience.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher.
- Management experience preferred.
- Must reside in the Southern California metro area.
- Ability to travel as needed throughout the community and regions, attend BBYO’s International Convention each February, and to staff a summer leadership program at a location in the US for 2-3 weeks each summer.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours (some nights and weekends)
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship.
