Description

 

The North Liberty Hospital department of Rehabilitation Therapies is seeking a Physical Therapist with a specialization in hand therapy. This candidate will administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings.  This position will primarily be assigned to an orthopedic outpatient setting.

  • Provide quality patient care, evaluation, assessment and treatment appropriate for patient’s needs. Assignment will  involve hand and upper limb rehabilitation including fabrication of customized splints in an outpatient setting.
  • Evaluate and instruct patients in home treatment programs
  • Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner
  • Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality
  • Attend and participate in educational programs and provide educational experiences as assigned
  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public
  • Performs special projects and tasks as assigned

     

Percent of Time: 100%

Schedule: This role requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts within clinic hours (7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday–Friday), which may vary based on staffing needs.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications: 

·         A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor’s Degree in another field and a Physical Therapy Certificate is required

·         Entry level experience in physical therapy in an outpatient setting

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

Licenses/ Certifications:

·         Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required

Desirable Qualifications:

·         1-3 years experience in Physical Therapy

·         1-3 years experience in the rehabilitation of the upper limb with emphasis on the wrist and hand including fabrication of customized splints

·         1-3 years experience in evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal disorders

·         Ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team

·         Demonstrated leadership in a work or academic setting
