HHM Hotels is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Business Travel Sales Manager to oversee and drive the business travel segment across our portfolio of hotels in New York City.  This pivotal role is responsible for maximizing revenue and market share by aggressively pursuing new corporate accounts and strengthening existing relationships within the Business Travel (BT) segment.

Experience: Minimum of [1 -3] years of progressive experience in hotel sales, with a strong focus on the Business Travel/Corporate Transient market segment.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee a cluster of hotels and maximize revenue by selling all facets of the properties to previous, current, and potential corporate clients.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy and action plan focused specifically on securing corporate negotiated rates, consortia business, and other transient segments. 
  • Actively solicit corporations for inclusion into their hotel travel program through personal calls, site inspections, tele-prospecting/email-prospecting, blitzing, and sales trips to assigned territories.
  • Build and maintain consistent volume from existing corporate accounts and travel agents; maintain good working relationships with corporate travel managers, procurement officers, business travel agents, and other decision makers and influencers.
  • Negotiate, contract, and monitor account agreements and productivity. Ensure rates committed are competitive and offer the highest yield for the hotel to ensure maximum profitability. This includes annual rate negotiations for renewal of existing accounts and continuous acquisition of new accounts and group business in all terms.
  • Build and maintain consistent volume from existing corporate accounts and travel agents; maintain good working relationships with corporate travel managers, procurement officers, business travel agents, and other decision makers and influencers.
  • Participate in trade shows and industry functions as directed.
  • Create strategic sales action plans that will address the direct need of the segment and the hotel. 
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

Position Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or related industry preferred.
  • Previous Business Travel experience withing the hotel industry or equivalent knowledge required.

Work Environment and Context

  • Work schedule varies and may include occasionally working on weekends.
  • Required to sit for extended periods, lift up to 10 pounds, bend, reach, use hands and fingers to operate keyboard.
  • Moderate travel between hotels and client’s locations required.
