Event Security Officer - Prudential Center

 Part-Time Event Security Officer

 Location: Newark NJ
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Event-Based ( Weekday / Weekend Evenings After 4:00 PM)
 

Securitas is seeking professional Part-Time Event Security Officers to join our team in Newark , NJ. This position is strictly event-based, meaning shifts are scheduled around venue events, with a primary focus on weekend evenings and occasional weekday evenings.

 

As an Event Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of attendees, staff, and performers at large-scale events such as concerts, sporting events, and festivals.

 

Responsibilities

 Event Security & Crowd Management

 

Conduct bag checks and frisking for prohibited items (e.g., weapons, contraband, outside food/drink)

Verify tickets and identify signs of fraud or tampering

Monitor crowd behavior and manage flow to prevent bottlenecks or safety concerns

Identify and de-escalate situations involving disruptive or unsafe behavior

Monitor backstage, VIP, and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized access

 Incident Response & Emergency Management

 

Respond to emergencies including medical incidents, fire, or disturbances

Administer basic first aid and coordinate with emergency responders as needed

Assist in executing evacuation procedures when necessary

 

Qualifications

Valid SORA license 

High School Diploma or GED

7 Verification of employment /school history

Must pass a drug screening and background check

Weekend availability required

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to stay focused and alert in dynamic, high-energy environments

Strong sense of integrity, dependability, and teamwork

 

Preferred Skills

Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to security protocols

Stay calm and composed under pressure or in emergencies

Strong observational skills with the ability to quickly identify potential risks or concerns

Experience in security, public safety, or event management is a plus
