Come join the Amazon Music Podcast Personalization team that drives personalization for all podcast related features across visual and voice driven applications. This team builds new features and strategies to drive content discovery and engagement. This team partners closely with scientists across the Amazon Music ecosystem and builds personalized recommenders and ranking strategies for all of our customers. As a Software Development Engineer in the Amazon Music Podcast Personalization team, you will have the opportunity to own and drive podcast-related initiatives. You and your team will have a meaningful input and impact on team culture, product and technical direction, and the quality of our customer experience. Your daily work will combine elements of developing scalable services and features, and running experimentations.

Key job responsibilities

Workings closely with partners across the Amazon Music organization to understand a broad range of business and customer problems

Using the industry-leading tools and technologies to solve problems optimally, and deliver improved personalized experiences

Defining and building scalable solutions that are easy to launch and simple to maintain

Working in an agile environment to define a robust roadmap and deliver high-quality software


About the team
As a Software Engineer on the Podcasts team, you will provide technical leadership in defining our software architecture and implementation to this unique problem. You, along with the entire team will have meaningful input and impact on product direction, and customer innovations to drive engagement. By joining as a team member, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical architecture and foundation of the new offering.

Basic Qualifications


  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
