Job Description:
The Head of Global Compensation is a strategic leader responsible for providing insight into the design of Zscaler’s total rewards programs with a focus on broad-based compensation strategies, sales compensation initiatives, pay equity, and transparency. As both a strategist and a hands-on leader, this position will collaborate with stakeholders across HR, Finance, and Sales Operations to develop programs that support employee engagement and drive overall business performance while fostering a culture of equity and trust through transparent communication about compensation practices.
Responsibilities:
As an experienced leader driving scalable solutions in broad-based compensation, sales incentive programs, and pay equity, you will report to the Vice President, Global Total Rewards and be responsible for:
- Sales Compensation Strategy & Design:
- In partnership with Finance and Sales Operations, architect innovative and competitive sales compensation plans that drive high performance and business growth while improving sales employee engagement and retention.
- In collaboration with the Sales Compensation function, monitor the effectiveness of sales compensation plans by conducting regular deep-dive analyses and adjusting designs as market conditions or business needs change.
- Regional Compensation Strategy:
- Provide input into the compensation strategy and operations across our global locations including Americas, EMEA, India, and APJ.
- Design and manage competitive salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs tailored to regional and business needs.
- Partner with executive leadership and HR Business Partners to provide compensation consulting and guidance on organizational design, job architecture, and pay decisions.
- Oversee annual compensation planning cycles (e.g., merit increases, bonuses, long-term incentives).
- Monitor market trends, conduct benchmarking, and leverage data to recommend compensation actions and updates.
- Manage compensation compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and internal audit requirements.
- Pay Equity & Transparency Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive pay equity strategy to ensure fair and unbiased compensation practices across the organization, aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead regular pay equity analyses to identify and address potential gaps, partnering with HR leadership and external consultants as needed.
- Drive initiatives to build transparency in compensation practices, including creating clear frameworks and communications for employees to understand how pay decisions are made.
- Stay informed about evolving pay equity and transparency regulations and ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing regional compensation team, fostering a collaborative culture.
- Partner closely with HR, Finance, Sales, and Business leaders to address compensation-related initiatives and to align rewards programs with the overall organizational strategy.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, offering insights and recommendations on compensation designs and trends that impact employee engagement, morale, and productivity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in HR, compensation, or total rewards management, including leadership roles.
- Expertise in compensation benchmarking, scalable program design, and equity program execution.
