About the Unit
The Performance & Asset Management Section Manager works in the Colorado Department of Transportation's (CDOT's) Office of Multimodal Planning within the Division of Transportation Development (DTD).

The mission of the Office of Multimodal Planning is: “Together, we bring the future into the present by imagining, planning and creating a safe, equitable and sustainable transportation system for all.”  The Office of Multimodal Planning (OMP) spearheads CDOT’s transportation planning. 

The OMP coordinates planning and policy efforts with various partners, including CDOT Regions, Transportation Planning Regions (TPRs), Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), and other stakeholders such as the freight industry, bicycle and pedestrian advocates, and local, state, and federal agencies. Key responsibilities of the OMP include leading the transportation planning process, which encompasses the development of the 10-Year Strategic Pipeline of Projects, the long-range Statewide Transportation Plan, and Regional Transportation Plans. In collaboration with the Office of Financial Management and Budget, the OMP also contributes to the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). Additionally, the OMP is responsible for Main Streets and active transportation programs.

About the Position

The Performance & Asset Management Section Manager provides strategic leadership and data analysis to integrate asset management, performance management, and risk and resiliency into corridor planning. 

The position is responsible for developing and implementing statewide frameworks, plans, and tools that guide transportation investment decisions, ensure compliance with federal and state requirements, and align with executive leadership priorities. This role integrates asset condition, system performance, risk, and multimodal needs into planning and programming processes, including the 10-Year Plan and corridor planning. 

This position maintains direct supervisory authority over six full-time employees and facilitates seamless integration between CDO
