Team/Role Overview

Individuals in the Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM) Quality Assurance (QA) Team are responsible for the assessment of outcomes from activities and processes against conformance with applicable requirements to strengthen risk management. This includes the execution, as part of a small team led by a SVP/C14, of monitoring and testing activities for controls, and the QA of control design assessments, control monitoring & testing tools design assessments, and the accuracy and quality of those tools. The individual may also be involved in other QA reviews as per the annual QA Plan such as policy/procedure adherence reviews, ICRM process focused reviews, issue quality control/assurance, and lessons learned. This role resides in the Controls Team within Independent Compliance Risk Management function (ICRM) and is a fixed term contract until March 31st, 2027.

What you’ll do

  • Support for the assessment of activities and processes as per required Policies, Standards and Procedures to strengthen risk management quality

  • Conduct routine testing of internal activities and processes to ensure adherence to established quality standards and identify areas of risk or non-compliance

  • Review stakeholder feedback

  • Support quality testing performed for Consent Order remediation post completion of an activity/process

  • Take part in development and execution of monitoring and testing for control design assessment and design of operational effectiveness for monitoring & testing tools, and execution of monitoring/testing tool

  • Report on quality assurance outcomes to top management and relevant stakeholders

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest quality assurance testing tools and strategies

  • Have a good understanding of the Citi risk & control framework and the underlying fundamentals of risk management

  • Identify any monitoring or control breaks and suggest enhancements

What we’ll need from you

  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relative field, advanced degree a plus.

  • Audit related professional qualification is preferred

  • Extensive experience in operational risk management, compliance, audit, or other control-related functions in the financial services industry.

  • Ability to identify, measure, and manage key risks and controls. Provide challenge and make recommendation for risk and controls remediation.

  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex risk and control activities and processes.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a demonstrated ability to engage at the senior management level.

  • Ability to understand Policies, Standards, and Procedures and translate into practical application/execution
