And what will you do?
Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer will manage process definition, capital acquisition, and process implementation. They will also train employees as necessary and lead Kaizen events to improve process performance.
Core Functions:
- Improves Safety, Quality, Throughput, Efficiency, and repeatability of processes through the elimination of wastes and the application of lean manufacturing principles.
- Drives and leads continuous improvement activities to improve process performance in safety, quality, on time delivery, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Manage and support projects as needed to support continuous improvement and growth objectives.
- Coaches site management on lean manufacturing principles and their implementation.
- Coaching site resources to facilitate their future state initiatives.
- Assists sites in the development and understanding of financial justifications for action items required to attain the desired future state.
- Maintains work instructions, work standards, JSAs, etc
- Creates and maintains Failure Mode and Effect analysis and resultant quality control plans
- Implements Visual Factory for all projects including standards for 5S, Inventory Management, Hourly Tracking, Visual Boards, and Autonomous and Preventive Maintenance.
- Follows and enforces all plant safety procedures and uses all applicable personal protective gear.
- Works with vendors to discover and develop equipment to support the achievement of the desired future state.
- Maintains tracking and up to date timelines on all projects
- Drive and educate site operations and maintenance teams to become self-sufficient.

Education & Experience:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability and willingness to learn production operations
- Well organized and effective communication
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented, self-starter, thrives in a changing environment
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment and mfg. plant environment. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift to 50 lbs. Able to communicate verbally and electronically. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and in a non-temperature-controlled environment. While performing the core function of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, squat walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach/pull/push/grab with hands and arms, kneel, and crouch, twist, and bend. This position will be exposed to working around machinery with moving parts, working around moving objects or vehicles. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or crawl.
