About the role

The Regional Director, Clinical Operations (RDCO) is a mission-driven, cross-functional leader responsible for the clinical, operational, and financial performance of an assigned region of ABA clinics. This role drives service excellence, develops local clinic leaders, and ensures high-quality outcomes for clients and families—advancing Kind Behavioral Health’s commitment to high-quality services, expanded access, outstanding employee experiences, and sustainable growth.
The RDCO has a hybrid reporting structure—reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), with a dotted line to the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO)—reflecting its dual accountability for clinical leadership and operational execution. The RDCO is accountable for clinic-level outcomes, including financial performance, clinical quality, service access, employee engagement, and client satisfaction. This role directly oversees Clinic Directors and other regional support staff.
The RDCO plays a critical role in translating enterprise strategy into local execution, leading through change, and fostering a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement. They partner cross-functionally with HR, Learning, and Clinical stakeholders to support clinic launches, pilot new initiatives, and scale best practices across their region. They also collaborate with key support functions—including Development, Intake, Scheduling, and Talent Acquisition—to drive regional growth and ensure their teams are well supported.
This is primarily a remote leadership role, with regular travel required to support onsite clinic visits and company events.

Responsibilities - Clinic Leadership & Quality:

  • Oversee the clinical performance of all assigned clinics.
  • Ensure the delivery of evidence-based, ethical ABA services that meet or exceed KBHs internal standards and payor requirements.
  • Provide guidance, development, and support to clinical leaders (ACDs, CDs) on treatment fidelity, clinical decision-making, and mentorship of clinicians.
  • Oversee regional clinical quality assurance systems, ensuring that fidelity audits, supervision protocols, documentation standards, and client outcome reviews are implemented consistently and used to monitor and improve performance. 
  • Assist on caregiver concerns and steward complex clinical escalations 

Responsibilities - Operational Excellence:

  • Support the successful onboarding and professional development of new BCBAs, ACDs, and CDs in partnership with Clinical Learning and Talent and Director of Clinician Success.
  • Drive strong regional performance against key operational metrics, including BCBA headcount, billable attributable hour target attainment, clinician utilization, staffing ratios, team member retention, cancellation management, and client satisfaction.
  • Lead workforce planning across clinics, ensuring adequate clinical staffing to meet client demand and service quality goals.
  • Oversee BCBA role, capacity, and caseload planning meetings across clinics to ensure alignment with client service goals and regional staffing needs.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring plans and maintain a strong pipeline of clinical and leadership talent.
  • Partner with Marketing and Business Development to support demand generation efforts and strengthen client pipelines in new and existing markets.
  • Lead new clinic launches within the region, partnering with Development, Marketing, and cross-functional teams to activate and grow services in new markets.
  • Conduct periodic regional P&L reviews to monitor financial performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve budgeted outcomes.
  • Ensure clinics maintain readiness and compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and health and safety requirements.
  • Support the development and execution of new initiatives, pilots, or policies designed to improve client care and improve the effectiveness/efficiency of KBH operations.

Responsibilities - Leadership Development & Team Culture:

  • Responsible for modeling and upholding KBH values of Think Big, Have Fun, Do Good, and Be Kind across all locations. 
  • Provide direct supervision, development, and performance feedback to Clinic Directors within the assigned region.
  • Partner with the Learning and Talent team to identify high-potential talent and build regional leadership succession plans.
  • Lead regional Clinic Director meetings and development sessions.
  • Leads Accommodations meetings to support KBH Scope of Practice.
  • Lead Clinical and Operations (ClinOps) meetings to support cross department communication, alignment on highest priorities, and ensure action plan development and follow through.
