Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Environmental Engineer IV to be based in our Annapolis Junction, MD office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line. This position is expected to begin immediately.
The Environmental Engineer IV will serve as a team member in the office and the field, assisting project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation.
The position includes work on environmental (soil, sediment, surface or groundwater) remediation system evaluation, design, and monitoring, and/or in the evaluation and design of wastewater, groundwater and air pollution control systems. You will support the team through various measures and resources that will be available to you.
This position will also assist in the performance of regulatory compliance inspections, sampling, and reporting associated with the implementation of permit and/or regulator requirements for commercial/industrial facilities.
The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:
• Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
• Prepares technical specification sections.
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
- 9+ years of experience in environmental investigations and site remediation
- Experience with CERCLA and RCRA remediation programs at complex sites
- Ability to demonstrate a primarily technical role in multiple site characterization, subsurface investigation, and remediation projects at various client sites
- Experience with sediment remedial investigations
- Experience in development of conceptual site models
- OSHA 40-hr Hazardous Waste Operations Training
- Proficient with independent task management and tracking towards project management
- Ability to understand and supervise advancement of soil borings and installation of monitoring wells
- Experience in the collection and evaluation of environmental data in field and office settings.
- Proficient with technical writing (remedial investigation reports, corrective action studies, etc.)
- Experience with ArcGIS
- Familiarity with State (i.e Maryland DEP, PADEP, NJDEP etc) and Federal Environmental Regulations
- Experience with the preparation of Phase I & Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
- PE licensure, or ability to obtain

- Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (Maryland locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $85,000 - 115,000 annual.
