About the Position:

The Support Enforcement Specialist with the Division of Child Support Enforcement Family Engagement Services Team, serves as program agent for assigned child support cases, engaging families for success so that they have the financial and family support they need to grow and thrive. Duties may include locating noncustodial parents, establishing paternity, determining and assessing child support obligations and health care coverage, and ensuring compliance of child and/or medical support orders through a number of administrative and judicial enforcement actions to include providing testimony in court proceedings when required. This position manages a substantial caseload in volume and complexity, drawing on a range of case management processes to influence noncustodial and custodial parents and to support their children and will provide direct support to the Division of Child Support Enforcement.

Please note:

• Modern Workplace: The Support Enforcement Specialist may be required to work a schedule that is split between remote and onsite, and/or locations, and include shared workspace.
• Community Outreach: The Support Enforcement Specialist will attend monthly meetings/events with external community partners which may include re-entry meetings, probation and parole, jail and prison visits, job and resource fairs, court, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have demonstrated:

• Skill in information collection through interviewing and obtaining/ reviewing records, documents and reports and the ability to analyze and determine the appropriate action in order to achieve results.
• Ability to interact with a diverse public in a service setting to tactfully solve problems, sometimes in difficult situations where conflict is encountered.
• Ability to work independently: plan, organize, and handle multiple priorities in a case management/caseload setting.
• Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and/or procedures to ensure compliance and produce outcomes and results.
• Skill in effective oral and written communication.
• Works in a considerate and respectful way as a team member to set, clarify and achieve team goals.

Additional Considerations

• Comprehensive knowledge of child support enforcement.
• Experience in case management or gathering and organizing client documentation to process financial transactions or maintain case activities.
• Experience in child support enforcement.
• Knowledge of and/or experience in legal processes, to include preparing legal documents and providing court testimony.
