Map energy consumption in use of all of our products

The NXP Sustainable Portfolio demonstrates NXP’s commitment to the designing and manufacturing of environmental-friendly products and composes of 3 elements.

Upstream - Scope 1 and 2, and Scope 3 upstream: NXP seeks to identify all of the energy and materials we use in the manufacturing of our products. This calculation includes the carbon implications of external fabs and the carbon impact across the entire manufacturing process, up to and including its entry into the market.

• Downstream - Scope 3 downstream: In addition to scope 1 and 2 carbon impact, NXP also calculates the energy consumption of a product  after it enters the market, based on its given application areas.
• Enablement - Portfolio Specific Sustainability Measures and Rankings: In addition to tracking our upstream and downstream carbon impact, NXP also understands the importance of bringing innovation to the quest for sustainability itself. We examine and orient our approach to address the many applications we enable. We are keen to understand and measure how our products and their associated portfolios contribute to megatrends such as those in Mobility, Smart Factories and Smart Homes. 

In this internship the candidate will work with the business lines and the data office to map the energy consumption in use of all of our products (part of the Downstream element) in a systematic and standardized fashion. After the initial mapping, a governance should be set up enabling NXP to update it in an automated fashion on a regular basis.
