Job Description
Arista Networks, an industry-leading and multi-award winning company, specializes in providing innovative software-driven cloud networking solutions for large data center storage and computing environments. As part of our ongoing expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our export compliance team. The successful candidate will primarily focus on the Americas region (US & Canada) while also collaborating with Global export compliance teams based in the US as well and various departments within Arista.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and stay up-to-date on changes in export control laws and regulations, and work with the legal team and Global Compliance Manager to update company policies and procedures accordingly.
- Work with the legal team, Global Compliance Manager, regional trade compliance managers and other cross-functional stakeholders as part of a continuous global improvement team.
- Responsible for new or updated US export compliance content for e-learning tool.
- Provide targeted training to America’s region employees on relevant export control topics, licenses and updates.
- Review and approval of End User Statements for LATAM region as required
- Work with legal to ensure all US export license are renewed in advance of expiry date and provide support data for new license applications.
- Provide 2nd level review for entity classification in the Arista ERP system as needed.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, including logistics, order management, service, legal, manufacturing operations, internal and external auditors.
- Provide internal compliance audits and assessments of our trade practices and procedures including those in the ICP
- Review and provide feedback on existing and new compliance procedures in conjunction with the Global Compliance Manager
- Work with external legal counsel and Arista’s legal team in reviewing customers and orders as needed to ensure compliance with US regulations
- Work with Legal and software/hardware engineers to determine new product classifications (ECCN) and review existing classifications to ensure ECCN still apply.
- Responsible for bi-annual BIS reporting and OFAC reporting as necessary.
Qualifications
- 10 years’ experience in US Export Compliance
- Significant experience in Export control regulations for dual-use goods (encryption controls, software & technology license administration).
- Proactive, flexible, with a can-do attitude
- Highly organized, accurate and detail-oriented
- Familiar with export compliance screening tools and trade compliance software and automated systems (Amber Road)
- In-depth knowledge of US export control regulations
- Experience with Canada export regulations a plus.
- Experience interacting with competent authorities such as the BIS, OFAC,
- Project management skills and experience
- Ability to communicate, negotiate, influence, and implement changes effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to real-world situations
