YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
The Director of Pre-Construction is responsible for running major projects with the capabilities and personality to develop new business opportunities with new and existing customers. The role includes managing a group of Team Leads/Chief Estimators and Pre-construction Managers.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Maintain a thorough project details list that describes the project “trail.” Plan and organize project pursuits, providing technical support to the entire proposal process.
Also known as a “Pursuit Leader”
Develop and implement strategies to drive growth, improve efficiency, maximize overall performance, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Oversee the successful execution of projects, ensuring timely delivery, resource allocation, and effective coordination among team members
Understand the company’s philosophy and systems.
Understand objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policies.
Maintain liaison with prime client and A/E to facilitate construction activities.
Build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, foster collaboration, and represent the organization at various meetings.
Supervise the preparation of all pricing quotations for presentation to the prime customer.
Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously
maintain good relationships with the client.
Provide management, direction, and guidance to the Preconstruction Manager.
Manage the estimating staff by providing high-level guidance to Estimating leads and the chief estimator.
Maintain a historical database of estimates for metric analysis, ensuring continuous improvement and refinement.
Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods required
Excellent communication skills with owners, architects, and design consultants
Thorough understanding of several types of design projects and concepts including design-build, design-assist, IPD, Lean, and LEED
Self-starter
Make independent decisions and recommendations which may greatly affect the profitability of the assigned area
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Oral and written communication skills as required for the position
Self-motivated and can work independently and as part of a team
Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or other related discipline
Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry; electrical contractor preferred
