WHO YOU ARE:

The Senior Manager, Corporate Security Headquarters (SM) will be tasked with ensuring the safety and security of the QTS CEO(s), and all Executive Staff members.  This person will work closely with the CEO(s) staff to remain informed and aware of meeting schedules, travel schedules, and movements of all QTS Senior Executives.  This role will also ensure the safety and security of QTS personnel at HQ, including the Senior Executives who work at, and visit, QTS HQ.  The SM will manage and oversee third party Executive Protection (EP) Agents when necessary for events and activities, and travel with the CEO(s) as required.  This will also include the review and security planning for all global QTS sponsored events to include QTS attendees (up to and including the CEO(s) and external attendees.  The SM will ensure constant vigilance from the (EP) agents and drive any required improvements.  The SM will be engaged with all facets of the Corporate Security team and Intelligence Team to ensure awareness of any threats to QTS and any QTS sites where the Executive Team members are based or visiting. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Management of the QTS Executive Protection program, to include coordinating with third party security resources for Executive Protection, managing the budget and scheduling of services

  • Working with QTS Intelligence functions (internal and external resources) to develop briefing packets for QTS Executive travel, especially with regard to domestic and international travel requirements

  • Provide threat briefings for Executive team members which include trends, guidance, and best practices

  • Create reports and prepare executive level presentations on the status of physical security operations

  • Liaise and engage directly with QTS HQ Executives to include the CEO(s) and those from the Finance, Legal, People Services, and other departments

  • Engage with Executive Protection teams from other private sector companies, as well as government officials

  • Plan, organize and strategize goals and objectives cooperatively with security leadership

  • Assume 24/7/365 availability to respond appropriately to all requests for emergency and non-emergency assistance in a professional manner

  • Evaluate and drive continuous improvement of contract EP agent operations through the use of key performance indicators and collaborative improvement plans

  • Have knowledge and familiarization with all emergency response plans and evacuation procedures where CEO(s) and Executive Staff are working and traveling

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement as well as Fire and EMS

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Ten or more years managing security operations and personnel

  • Seven or more years Project Management experience

  • Seven or more years experience in Executive Protection Services

  • Five of more years of experience in working with security vendors and contractors

  • Must be able to travel between 25% - 50%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification from a reputable executive protection training academy

  • State and local license to carry concealed firearm

  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications

  • Proficiency in defensive tactics and advanced driving skills 

  • Experience in military, law enforcement, or prior executive protection

  • A high degree of situational awareness for recognizing and mitigating threats.
