Job Summary
Under general direction, oversees the day to day operations of student accounts including student cashiering; responsible for student tuition and fee assessment, billing, collections, student refunding, third party billing, short term loan administration, preparation and mailing of 1098T tax forms, and administration of the online bill payment suite; reports and processes oversights including job submissions, quality control, and set-up for detail and fund codes associated with student billing.
Job Duties
Responsible for updating student information system accounts receivable tables, running Banner account receivable processes, validating output of Banner processes, inputting Banner detail codes, monitoring and updating the University electronic bill payment suite (Touchnet), and troubleshooting for system related inquiries.
Supervises and trains staff on accounts receivable and collection issues to ensure satisfactory customer service.
Serves as liaison with cashier area, information technology, treasurer, registrar, International Center, residence life, and parking and card services; serves on core team for student information system as accounts receivable issue expert. Works with multiple departments and units to establish assessment parameters, coding and revenue placement
Establishes and maintains fee assessment structure. Requires extensive collaboration and detail work.
Communicates and assists students, parents, and others concerning student accounts issues. Problem solves and communicates to outside agencies.
Researches and develops process improvements which contribute to overall departmental initiatives. Serves as senior member of the department team.
Oversight of the student cashiering and student account activities. Lead assessment and development of best practices, compliance of, and communications for student billing, payments, and questions. Train staff, faculty and other partners as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of student information systems, preferred SCT Banner system, and processes including accounts receivable
Knowledge of Touchnet electronic bill payment suite

Ability to instruct/teach/tutor
Knowledge of federal, state and other regulations related to university student billing and aid.

Some project management experience a plus

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors with Masters preferred and four (4) years of related experience.

Compensation:
Salary Range - $60,000 to $70,000
