Director - Pharmacy, Home Infusion

The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for providing administrative decision-making, leadership and strategic planning including the efficient and productive use of personnel, material, and financial resources. This role is responsible for the efficient and purposeful integration of services with other areas and emerging delivery systems. The Director manages ongoing analysis, development and implementation of methods and systems to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of services and functions. This role formulates proactive action plans in collaboration with system goals. The Director executes plans, with and through others, integrating the efforts of various components/entities of the system. Lastly, this role ensures fiscal responsibility and clinical and operational performance improvement initiatives of the service line.

This role will be based in Indianapolis, IN.
 

Key Relationships
Reports to: Vice President – Ambulatory Services
Direct Reports: 5 direct reports (pharmacy managers)
Key Relationships: This role will collaborate closely with several departments including but not limited to: Nursing, Home Health, Finance, Revenue Cycle Services, System Health Services Business Partners, System Pharmacy.

Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for the position will be selected from a diverse pool and will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy, plus at least 3 years of experience in hospital pharmacy practice required.
• MBA/MHA preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Pharmacist in Indiana or eligible for licensure.
• Management experience is preferred.
• Requires knowledge of the accepted practices, procedures, regulations, and techniques applicable to the practice of Pharmacy.
• Member of the American College of Health Care Executives preferred.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience is required.
• Experience in the hospital, clinic, or infusion setting preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile compounding strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile compounding strongly preferred.
• Strong business and financial acumen preferred.
• Experience with the Joint Commission Survey process preferred.
