The Production Technician is responsible for providing technical support for the SMT and Circuit Board Operations teams.  The Technician identifies problems and implements corrective actions leading to continuous improvements.  SMT and Circuit Board assembly support require knowledge of SMT equipment programming along with electrical and mechanical equipment knowledge.  Focus for this position is on technical abilities.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

• Participate in NPD – programming equipment and running boards for R&D
• Provide feedback to R&D related to NPD runs – optimizing manufacturability
• Providing information to get NPD boards production ready documentation
• Provide training on the use of SMT equipment
• Troubleshoot and assist operators with equipment performance
• Monitor SMT quality performance
• Develop and implement changes for continuous improvement
• Assist in training SMT operators
• Read electronic circuit schematic diagram and how the circuit functions
• Spec, order and maintain solder paste stencils

The essential requirements of the job include:

• 5+ years in SMT support role
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience 
• Advanced technical or mechanical problem solving 
• Ability to recognize and solve non-routine problems; completes work with limited direction 
• Communicates detailed technical information with tact and diplomacy, both written and verbal
